Vibes player René ten Cate started to play drums and piano on an early age. Years later he discovered the vibraphone with its sprinkling sound, in fact it was the perfect combination of piano and drums. Through the years he developed a style of its own and played in several Jazz- and Fusion groups in the Netherlands and also outside the Netherlands.
He played with famous people like Scott Hamilton, Pat Metheny, Benny Baily, Ruud Brink, Pia Beck, Martin Drew, Alvin Queen and was featured a few times by the big band ‘the Skymasters’, and was featured on several CD-productions. |

Vocalist Katarina Barbić, is a new discovery in ‘music land’. Originally from Croatia, she was broad up in a rich culture of music and singing. Because of her strong relation with her homeland she started to sing Croatian (Dalmatian) Folksongs, comping herself with acoustic guitar. With this she tried to promote the Croatian culture to the world.
Recently she is accompanied by René ten Cate on vibraphone with its complete personal sound and approach. The combination results in an interesting, catching and artistic high level of music, with sprinkling and sometimes also ‘breath taking’ passages. |
